The hardest part of capturing stats during a game of volleyball is during the rally. When the ball is up in the air, your team has 3 legal touches in a fraction of a second. Meanwhile, you have to capture which player touched the ball, what skill the player performed, and the quality of the skill performed for all 3 touches. Unlike current volleyball stats apps on the market, the tap and swipe system by VbLiveStats allows you to capture your team’s performance with just 2 actions. A tap on a player will capture a dig and a swipe up on a player will capture an attack attempt for that player along with a set assist for the setter. The idea is that by default you should only have to tap and swipe during the rally. Once the ball is down, by either a point or an error, the game stops and you can then change the quality of the last skill. For instance, if the last recorded action was an attack attempt(swipe up). If the player on your team that attacked the ball got a kill, you can then change the attack quality from an attempt to a kill. The app will automatically handle the point, rotation, and record a serve for your team based on your lineup.
